“ELISA” stands for the Edinburgh Libraries & Information Services Agency and it acts as a network for all the library and information professionals based in Edinburgh. There are over 130 different libraries and information services in Edinburgh working in all sectors and many having a national or international remit. The aim of this network is to provide opportunities for library and information staff to develop and improve services to users through practical ventures on the ground. Edinburgh Library Passport Scheme
This past year, in November 2008, many of the libraries based in Edinburgh worked together to put on Edinburgh’s Festival of Libraries. Over 65 different organisations were involved and this represented an astounding range of treasures and services. A look at the Libraries Festival Programme will demonstrate the wealth of resources and the contact details are also listed so you can check out some of the resources for yourself.
