The TACIT newsletter is issued every month in pdf format. If you would like to be added to the mailing list or to contribute articles, news, suggestions, etc, please e-mail the editor: Nicola Harrison.
The purpose of the newsletter is:
- to encourage and develop ELISA as a network of contacts and information, and as a hub of collaborative activities in the City
- to raise the profile of individual services working in Edinburgh
TACIT has a Facebook Group, a Blogspot, and a Wordpress Blog which include articles and events notifications that don’t fit into the main issue.
Regular contents include: notifications of future events; job vacancy postings; reports on previous events: and ‘View from the West’ a column from a school librarian on his day to day work.

TACIT July 2010 features a report on the CILIPS Annual Conference as well as Information and Knowledge Management in National Museums Scotland and our regular school librarian’s column.
TACIT June 2010 describes the work of the RMJM Knowledge Centre and has a new feature: Meet A Librarian.
TACIT May 2010 includes a description of the work of the Edinburgh Architectural Association Library, a personal journey to Chartership and information on the Intute funding cut. Due to a slight technical hitch (my firewall ate the original, and the replacement arrived to late to be included in the main issue) our anonymous school librarian’s column can be found at View from the West.
TACIT April 2010 contains a report on the ELISA Full Committee meeting, an article on the role of libraries in education from the Deputy Convenor of the Education and Lifelong Learning Committee of the Scottish Parliament, and a profile of the NHS’s Knowledge Network.
TACIT March 2010 has a report on the Edinburgh University Library refurbishment and a photo from the ELISA Full Committee meeting as well as news and event reports.
TACIT February 2010 includes reflections on the NLS Chartership Workshop and on the role of a school librarian.
TACIT January 2010 introducing the Carry a Poem campaign.
