ELISA usually stages at least one event a year for the Edinburgh-based professional community. In recent years, the organisation of this event has come under the auspices of the ELISA Staff Training & Development Group and so there has been an emphasis on themes particularly relevant to CPD. The event for 2009 is entitled “Libraries and Learning in the e-Environment”

ELISA is primarily a professional network with an internal focus on the profession, however member services are very keen to raise their profile for the general public and various events have been staged as a co-operative effort in audience development, these have included Edinburgh’s Festival of Libraries.
