ELISA OPEN FORUM 2009 – Libraries and Learning in the E-Environment

This event was hosted by Edinburgh University Library in the Appleton Tower on Thursday June 11th. The keynote speakers were Nora Mogey, Head of Learning Services, Information Services, University of Edinburgh; Alison Stoddart, Acting Library Development Officer – Information, Edinburgh City Libraries & Information Services; and Hamish Macleod, Co-Director of the MSc Programme in E-learning at Edinburgh University. There was a wide range of contributions that had the Forum buzzing with discussions and ideas – For more details please see the programme.

The Forum was fully booked with 60 participants through the day. Amongst these participants over 30 different organisations were represented and so the occasion provided an excellent networking opportunity. To get a flavour of the event have a look at the photos on Flickr

The key objectives of the event were to exchange ideas and experience,  and to explore ways to improve one’s own professional practice. To help with this the organising team are keen to make the information shared widely available. Nearly all of the presentations are available to view through slideshare. Here you will not only be able to learn about how digital tools are being used in different contexts, but also there are some useful links and contacts.
